Great men LEAD the right way – Lyudmil Zahariev about resilience, integrity, and balance
#Movember and International Men’s Day are about resilience, integrity, and balance. We have all those values ingrained in our culture at LEAD Consult, and we are all driven by and believe in success in our business. We interviewed several of our teammates and asked them to share with us their views on what allows them to grow as an individual as well as professionals. Today the spotlight is on Lyudmil Zahariev, Head of Business Consulting at LEAD Consult. He talks about his role models, what helps him maintain his work-life balance, and what continues to nourish his personal and professional growth.
Lyudmil’s admiration is for David Goggins – a man who embodies grit, perseverance, and transformation. Values, that perfectly correlate and reflect ours at LEAD Consult. Similar to Goggins, we love resilience and solving obstacles in our way as we take two steps forward. We believe that this commitment to growth echoes in the personal stories of each team member, as well as in the collective achievements. As a result, we can consistently deliver cutting-edge solutions on-demand to a diverse portfolio of clients in the Energy, Finance, Data Processing and Management, and Software Development industries.
In his talk, Lyudmil also contributes to the theme of balance, this time, around family, health, and personal passion. This is a helpful reminder that variety in life is not only about managing stress but also about purpose and passion and how to incorporate these into daily practice. As we move forward as a team, we wish to emphasize sustainable performance and long-term value creation.
Q: Who is your positive male role model?
Lyudmil: My positive male role model is David Goggins, a figure who might not be widely known in mainstream circles but has profoundly impacted my life.
Goggins, a former Navy SEAL and ultra-endurance athlete, is the epitome of resilience. He transformed himself from a struggling failure into one of the world’s toughest people through raw grit, relentless discipline, and an unbreakable mindset.
Goggins has shown me that resilience isn’t glamorous, it’s built in the quiet, daily grind—and that’s a lesson I carry into everything I do. It isn’t about talent or luck but about choosing, every single day, to show up and keep pushing forward.
How do you take care of your wellbeing and work-life balance?
Lyudmil: I take care of my well-being by staying connected to what truly matters: loved ones, health, and personal passions. Time with my wife, my daughter, and my friends is grounding, reminding me of my purpose and helping me be fully present in every moment. Staying active is also essential—I make exercise a priority, using sports to keep my mind sharp. My personal passions bring fresh perspectives that inspire me both in life and in my work.
Balancing my career and personal life isn’t always easy, but by aligning my priorities, I’m able to stay focused, energized, and fully engaged in the work I do. It’s an ongoing, interconnected dynamic that I constantly strive to balance, ensuring that each part of my life supports and enhances the others.
